01
Handle Design

Ergonomic. Sculptural.
Seamlessly integrated.

Every touchpoint with Amari is considered, and the handle is no exception. Designed to align with the natural grip of the hand, it offers effortless operation with a clean, minimalist profile. Built into the structural logic of the window, it serves as both form and function: a handle, a brace, a statement.

02
Sliding Window Track

Glides like thought.
Anchors like steel.

The sliding track is engineered for ultra-smooth, precision movement. Whether it’s a gentle push or a firm slide, the system responds with quiet confidence. Behind the simplicity lies a meticulously designed mechanism involving low-friction stainless steel rollers that ensure alignment, durability, and years of flawless performance.

03
Locking Mechanism

Discreetly powerful.
Elegantly secure.

Security doesn't have to look like compromise. Amari's multipoint locking system is designed to blend seamlessly into the frame while offering robust protection. Minimal in appearance but maximal in impact, it balances ease of use with uncompromising performance. Because safety should be beautiful too.

04
Drainage Channels

Engineered for nature.
Built to withstand it.

Rain doesn’t seek permission, and with Amari, it doesn’t need to. An integrated drainage slope channels water efficiently, keeping interiors dry and the frame intact. Invisible to the eye but critical to performance, this detail ensures the window endures through every season.

AMARESH ANAND DESIGN (AAD) -
ARCHITECTURAL VISION

AAD is the creative vision of multidisciplinary designer, Amaresh Anand. Rooted in the belief that design transforms lives, AAD is a collaborative space where creative minds and diverse disciplines cross-pollinate to spark design solutions that are thoughtful and beautiful. Focused on bringing authenticity and accessibility back to design, AAD channels the memory and imagination of designers, artisan and user into thrilling design outcomes.

In co-developing Amari, AAD has not only shaped a new product category, but also reimagined how architecture can integrate systems thinking into artisanal intent, offering a new lens through which to view the intersection of form and function.

BORN OF DVAITA,
OF DIALOGUE BETWEEN
MATERIALS, DISCIPLINES,
AND MINDS —

IT EVOLVED INTO ADVAITA,
WHERE THOSE
DIFFERENCES DISSOLVED
INTO A SEAMLESS WHOLE.

Amari’s essence finds a deeper echo in Indian philosophy, in the timeless dialogue between Dvaita and Advaita.

Dvaita celebrates duality, the coexistence of contrasts;
Advaita transcends them, revealing their ultimate unity.

Amari embodies this journey from two to one.

I.
The Impetus

The idea for Amari began with a recurring design problem. Amaresh Anand found that traditional timber windows, while warm and tactile, often appeared visually heavy in contemporary architecture. Aluminium systems, on the other hand, offered precision but lacked material presence.

The search was for balance, a window that could bring the clarity of modern engineering together with the quiet authenticity of wood.

II.
The Meeting of Minds

In 2012, that search led Amaresh to RitikaaWood and Anuj Divanji, whose work with performance timber systems introduced him to Accoya®, a sustainably sourced, acetylated wood known for its dimensional stability and longevity. The shared belief in both performance and responsibility formed the basis of their collaboration. For his own home, Amaresh developed the first hybrid prototypes, combining steel frames with Accoya wood.

These early windows tested structure, proportion and joinery, becoming the laboratory for an entirely new system. More than ten years later, the same windows continue to perform flawlessly, a quiet testament to the rigour and conviction that shaped them.

III.
The Evolution

Over the next decade, the design evolved through countless refinements. The steel skeleton was replaced with a precision-engineered aluminium structure, reducing material use, improving thermal performance, and enabling cleaner detailing.

Throughout, the intent remained constant: to bring together the emotional and the engineered, and every junction, seal and section was reconsidered to serve function without compromising on form.

IV.
The Material Ethic

At the heart of Amari lies Accoya, chosen not for its novelty but for its integrity. Sustainably sourced from managed forests and modified using accelerated biomimicry, Accoya offers exceptional durability, stability and weather resistance, with a 50yr warranty.
Its longevity reduces maintenance and replacement cycles, lowering environmental impact while preserving the tactile beauty of real wood.

The system, therefore, is as much about responsible construction as it is about refined design.

V.
The Sculpture

Integrating a multipoint locking system into Amari’s slender frame posed a precise engineering challenge—delivering performance and function without breaking the sightline or adding visual weight. Working with wood enabled a uniquely sculptural solution. Amaresh shaped a handle that gracefully incorporates the internal gearing within a carved timber profile, transforming a technical requirement into an architectural gesture.

It stands as a quiet symbol of Amari’s philosophy: the meeting point of art and engineering.

VI.
The Outcome

The result is Amari, a decade-long dialogue between architect and engineer, between thinking and making.

It demonstrates that sustainability, technology, and craft can coexist naturally, and that design, when pursued with patience and care, can quietly redefine an entire typology. A window that reflects how design evolves when curiosity meets craft.

AMARI IS DESIGNED FOR ARCHITECTURAL FREEDOM.
